Gelatinized Maca

POWERFUL ADAPTOGEN: Peruvian, gelatinized, certified organically-grown, sun-dried maca root (Lepidium meyenii). Sometimes unofficially referred to as “Peruvian ginseng,” maca grows in the harsh and extreme conditions of the Andes Mountains of central Peru. Maca has been consumed for centuries in the Andes and has had a great recognition amongst the indigenous peoples since pre-Incan times.

GELATINIZATION PROCESS: The maca gelatinization processes came about in the 1990s to make “raw” maca powder, a cruciferous root, easier to digest. Boiling and pressurization is used to greatly reduce the starch content thus creating a more concentrated maca than “raw” maca.
