All parts of the moringa tree are used in traditional medicine: the bark, sap, roots, leaves, seeds, and flowers. The miracle tree, one of its monikers, has a history of use dating back to 2,000 B.C. Our Moringa leaf powder is grown in India, one of moringa’s native habitats. It is common for moringa farms in India to grow moringa specifically for the seeds so the oil can be extracted and sold for cooking; consequently, the leaves are sold as a byproduct. The moringa leaf we source is from farms that specifically grow the moringa for the leaves, not the seeds. The leaves are harvested before the tree bears fruit (seedpods) to ensure that the leaves retain the highest amount of nutrition possible.
